Best car I've ever had (all things considered)
By chemprof | on Monday, August 31, 2020
This is my second Bolt. Had a 2017, this one is better. The seats are better, there seems to be more room in the interior and the Premier model is loaded with tech and safety add ons. My 2017 was not as well equipt but I still loved it. It's not a Porsche, BMW or muscle car but it can sure move if you want it to. Reliable. Never, in 36000 miles did I have to bring the 2017 for service. Say bye-bye to gas stations and high insurance premiums. Cheaper than a Model 3 and certainly cheaper than a Model S. The Bolt has more of everything compared to the other EVs. Ok, so I can't drive more than 125 miles on a single charge. So what. Most of my traveling is less than 100 miles total. Lots of cargo space. A dream to park. I guess you can say I like the car. Ya think?… - 5.0
Incredible Value - A Blast To Drive!
By tdjgordon | on Wednesday, September 30, 2020
The Chevy Bolt is our first EV. Our previous vehicle was a 2014 Equinox. We bought the Bolt Premier model for additional comfort and safety features. The vehicle is truly a "pocket rocket" very quick and energetic to drive. the The build quality of this Chevy far surpasses others I've owned over the years. Fit and finish are excellent - both inside and out. Good job GM! It was a little tough to find the right 240 volts, 40 AMP charging station. We bought a ChargePoint Flex and they helped us to find a good installer. One of the things about having an EV is driving right by gas stations and not even looking at the price per gallon. The 10.2" touch-screen is bright and colorful. Very easy to read and use. The electronics in this car are outstanding - the infotainment center with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is easy to use. The Bose premium sound system is very strong, crisp, and clear. Some of the features of this car take a little getting used to. The transmission shifter has an odd design to get into reverse. The regenerative paddle braking system was a new concept for us. The HD surround vision cameras are a hoot - as you see live video of the vehicle from what looks like 10 feet above the car. Easy to check for gators if you live in Florida. Overall we are really enjoying our new 2020 Chevy Bolt EV Premier.… - 5.0
Amazing Value, Extremely Practical and Very Fun
By Electric Avenue | on Monday, September 07, 2020
I had previously driven a Tesla and know many people with performance Tesla cars and wasn’t sure how I’d like the Bolt’s acceleration and infotainment, but boy did it beat my expectations. I loved it the moment I got in. The dashboard is nice looking, the leather seats are all heated and rather comfortable. Amazing automatic headlights make night driving seem like day time compared to some older vehicles I’ve driven. Getting around town is insanely efficient. I can charge up in my garage overnight and have enough charge to go pretty much anywhere I need to without charging again. The price was much less than a Tesla, which though it doesn’t have the Supercharging network and lacks some of the speed and infotainment, it is a much better value. I would only upgrade to a Tesla for the self driving software. So far, very impressed with the Bolt. It’s an incredible car and very cost effective. The lack of engine noise and quick acceleration take a little getting used to, but once you’re adjusted it feels and sounds amazing. I love the little hum of the electric motor and the one pedal driving (let go of the accelerator and the motor uses regenerative breaking to slow the car to a stop all while recharging the car). The car looks small on the outside, but has an incredible amount of interior space for both cargo and passengers. If this car is Chevy’s first attempt at electric cars, then the future of the auto industry is going to be amazing. Can’t wait to see what they come out with next!…
